Final Reflection

After the whole semester of designing my own Wix webpage, I’ve learned a lot from both aspects of soft skills and hard skills. Moreover, I’ve learned a lot about coping with challenges as well.

Speaking of soft skills I’ve learned, first, I’ve learned how to brainstorm, organize my thoughts, and create intriguing content. I would gather and write down my thoughts about the specific topic, list out what I want to incorporate in the content, and finally draft the abstract and the article. Through this organized process of crafting and writing, I’m a lot more capable of putting my imaginative and wild ideas into real action and works than before. With this ability to organize and write something high-quality, starting to write isn’t that intimidating as it was before. Moreover, I’ve learned how to maintain flexibility when my ideas fail to meet the goal and come up with new ideas to replace in a short period.

In terms of hard skills, I’ve acquired the skills of designing the e-portfolio. At the beginning of the semester, I was not familiar with how to write on websites and design visuals with software, and I preferred paper and pens more before. At first, I had trouble adjusting fonts and styles, and I couldn’t place the content in the exact place I wanted it to be. However, with TA and Prof. Sherry’s instruction and help, I gradually got the hang of it. Moreover, the comment box serves as an excellent place for me to receive significant and valuable pieces of advice; I’ve learned a lot from it! Now, after a few months of practicing, I’m able to create entertaining content without feeling uncomfortable or panicking on the Wix webpage. I still have a long way to go in terms of learning e-stuff; however, I’m already on my way to accepting challenges.
